I love turning soap into body wash it is one of my specialties; this one is my favorite because all you need is soap and water to make body wash. It is not a fancy body wash but it is quick easy and simple.
Oh the soap is ready to go

I boiled it for 10 minutes, it got hot, I got sweaty , and the clumps would not melt

Note: The body wash can get real messy, I bought this soap for a dollar and wanted a quick body wash to use. I would recommend using a better brand or add essential oils and other oils. I used olive oil in this recipe, it was a cap full and it dissolved very well. I will do more experimenting; making homemade body wash from cheap soaps that will not dry the skin out (this body wash will).
I tried this recipe with a nice bar of soap (that was so large I would never end up using it in bar form) and ran into some difficulty. I thought I had added enough water but after I poured it into my bottle it conjealed! It didn’t become solid, more like a slimy, flubber-like cream (which actually makes a nice shaving cream). I added olive oil and essential oils to my mixture as well but I doubt that would have made a difference. How much water are you adding when you make yours?
I did use a lot of water, I use about 10 cups of water (to start) and would add more water as I was boiling the soap.. In the winter I try not to make it because it does thicken up quickly.. When the body wash does start to thicken up I like to make whip soap.. 🙂
I can’t believe my luck stumbling onto your website. Have you ever made your whip soap using something like dish detergent? We have hard water where I live and I was thinking of experimenting with making a shower gel out of Dawn or some other dish liquid. But I can’t wait to try your whipped soap.
I don’t think dish detergent will work because it’s a liquid and not a solid, but it couldn’t hurt to try. Once you start to whip it up, it may incorporate into the oils! Let me know how it turns out!! 🙂
