Avocado Tomato Sandwich Spread

This week and next week I will be showing a few recipes I created with Hormel! They are officially on the site so make sure you check them out and enjoy!!
Avocado Tomato Sandwich Spread

It can be hard finding deli meats that are preservative, nitrate and hormone free that don’t cost a fortune. That is one of the major reasons why I stay away from many deli meats is because of the nitrates, and preservatives. My fears were put to rest once I went to the local grocery store and read the back of the label for natural choice deli meats by Hormel. I was actually a bit excited!!! There was not one ingredient I could not read and in their deli ham they used natural colorants like cherry powder. I was pretty impressed that instead of high fructose corn syrup in their honey ham they used real honey and turbinado sugar.

It really doesn’t get much better than that when it comes to selecting pure ingredients in Honey ham. I am not a big fan of mayo when it comes to a hearty BLT, so I decided to make a delicious natural sandwich spread with avocado. It’s like guacamole but without the onion. I added Hormel natural choice nitrate free (of course) bacon to the sandwich because it made a hearty, quick and simple lunch that took no time at all. I think it’s the best sandwich I had in a while that didn’t cost me a fortune.
