I AM a Type 1 diabetic (on insulin) and your recipes are awesome. If any one knows about Type 1 diabetes, they will know that for most of us ANY amount of sugar can raise our levels. I use Splenda in my baking, and for me it’s the best thing. I use stevia for natural fresh foods.
Why do people WHO DO NOT have Diabetes feel the need to tell us what we SHOULD do. Live 30+ years on insulin and then tell me how to live. I am fairly healthy except for the T1 Diabetes and have done a fantastic job managing it. So people – keep your opinions to yourself! Or maybe I can tell YOU how to live your life. Thank you so much for your recipes. Keep up the good work! ?

You half to understand that Splenda and most foods good or bad can harm the body in large amounts. Vitamin A is very toxic in the body in high dosages and vitamin C causes bowel intolerance in high dosages as well. The point I am trying to make is; that I am passionate about those who are diabetic and in some cases this is the only alternative that they know about, so I create recipes just for them. I have so, so many sugar free recipes on my blog that don’t use Splenda. I am surprised you decided to comment on just this one. Instead of recognizing all the other recipes I have created with natural sugar alternatives.

I’m not sure if you are aware, but Splenda is an artificial sweetener and very toxic to the body. I’m holistic and was surprised to see this on your site. I thought you were into natural foods, but this is far from it. If I may suggest, I use organic loose stevia and blend it up in my high powered blendtec for about 1 minute with a little organic tapioca starch and I have instant, very healthy powdered sugar. No calories and no sugar. I know it can be expensive to buy the loose, so if you want to stretch your money, I’d recommend 1/2 organic raw sugar only and 1/2 organic loose stevia and blend it up. You’ll get 1/2 the sugar count and it won’t spike blood sugars, since the sugar is raw instead of refined which does spike blood sugar.I hope this helps. If you’d like to email me and ask me some questions, feel free to do so. I’d love to help in any way that I can. Thanks

Working with these subs will require less amounts in recipes, but it will work fine 🙂
