Moisturizing Body Scrub

24 February, 2014 by Shundara@Savynaturalista

Moisturizing Body Scrub  I know this year has been considered the coldest on record for half the country; however Arizona has been pretty warm this year (with record temps in the 80’s). That still doesn’t stop the dry weather from being so harsh on the skin. The air is so dry that my skin has started to crack and peel. This weather has not been very good to my skin or sinuses, and even though I have been using a humidifier, drinking lots of water, and putting thick creams on my skin. It still seems as if I am not getting enough moisture. Moisturizing Body Scrub Two weeks ago it hit me that I should start adding sugar scrubs to my regimen! They get rid of dead skin and seal in moisture. I know we try a lot of things to keep dry skin at bay, and since I refuse to go a day without a shower (I look forward to a nice hot shower after a long day at work). Sugar scrubs are the next best thing! Now they will not work miracles, but they will help relieve some of that dry skin we get during the winter. Let’s keep or skin nice and moist during the winter months!

Moisturizing Body Scrub Moisturizing Body Scrub Recipe:
3 cups sugar
1/2 cup lotion
1 ¼ cups coconut oil
10 drops essential oils (optional)
Recipe Directions: In a small bowl mix sugar, lotion, oil, and essential oils. Stir until all the ingredients are combined. Once combined store sugar scrub in an air tight container.

My skin has been really dry lately too and I refuse to give up my daily hot shower as well hehe. This sugar scrub sounds wonderful and may be just the solution I need :)

Lol I guess my blood is too thin! :) I have no clue what -50 feels like, but it must be cold! I tell you what we can trade when it get’s 110 degrees in the summer :). I use a light brown organic sugar with 1/4 cup olive oil to get it a yellow color. Stay warm :)

What are the black/brown specs in the photo? I don’t see anything in the ingredients that would have those in it.
